Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki was an Indian television epic series produced by
Ekta Kapoor of
Balaji Telefilms. Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki premiered on
9X July 7, 2008. It was a modern and westernized version of the epic
Mahabharata and aired every Monday - Thursday at 9pm. It was discontinued much before its original completion date because of low TRP ratings & criticism from all quarters.
[edit] Synopsis
It tells the story of a dynastic struggle for the throne of
Hastinapura, the kingdom ruled by the
Kuru clan. The two branches of the family that participate in the struggle are the
Kaurava and the
Pandava. Although the
Kaurava is the senior branch of the family,
Duryodhana, the eldest
Kaurava, is younger than
Yudhisthira, the eldest
Pandava. The seeds of the climactic battle of
Kurukshetra were laid in the boyhood days of the Kauravas and Pandavas, when
Shakuni the maternal uncle of the Kauravas poisoned the mind of
Duryodhana.
